History of Saint Anselm's Academy

Saint Anselm’s Nursery School served the community beginning in 1973.  Many parents of the children in our care today were once students of Saint Anselm’s.

In September 2015 (in our 42nd year) we expanded our programming to include before care, after care and full day child care, under licensing through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.

Saint Anselm’s Academy is an extension of the educational, pastoral, and missionary arms of Saint Anselm’s Episcopal Church.  The school operates under the control and supervision of the Rector, Wardens and Vestry of Saint Anselm’s Church and Saint Anselm’s Academy School Board.  The academy is an integral part of the Saint Anselm’s Church life and family. The church staff extends a warm welcome to you and invites you to participate in this Parish.  If there is a way the clergy may serve you, please stop by or call the office.  Information about our services, as well as our contact information can be found on the website

Mission Statement

At Saint Anselm's Academy, each child is viewed as a seed that we nurture with care.  Our school provides a safe, nurturing and engaging early learning environment where children can grow and develop emotionally, socially, cognitively and physically.  With our whole-child approach, our dedicated and experienced teachers foster children's learning through guided and unstructured play, a developmentally appropriate environment, and the implementation of the Creative Curriculum, which is aligned with the New York State Early Learning Guidelines.  Our school effectively supports the diverse needs of children and families in our community through individualizing learning experiences to children's specific needs and open communication with parents.
